Acceptable Use

Draft. This document is a working draft and has not yet been reviewed by a solicitor. It describes how Cache intends to operate, but it is not final and may change before launch.
The short version of how to use Cache well. The full detail lives in the Terms of Service; breaking these rules can earn strikes, suspension or termination.
Goods
Never store (and hosts, never knowingly accept):
- hazardous or flammable materials;
- perishables or anything that rots or leaks;
- live animals or plants;
- illegal goods, or goods you don't have the right to possess;
- weapons, ammunition or explosives;
- cash or bullion;
- unregistered pharmaceuticals;
- lithium batteries beyond ordinary consumer quantities.
Declare your goods honestly and stay within the value band you booked.
Conduct
- Be straight with the other side — accurate listings, accurate declarations, no misrepresenting who you are.
- Remember hosts are households: renters are guests on someone's street. Treat the space, the building and the neighbours accordingly.
- No harassment, threats or discrimination — instant removal territory.
Access windows
- Turn up inside the agreed window, and check in and out in the app.
- Can't make it? Say so in advance through booking messages — use the agreed fallback window or propose a paid extra visit. Repeated no-shows without notice earn strikes.
- Respect the tier you booked: outside-tier access is by paid extra visit, not by knocking.
Evidence and photos
- Take honest condition photos at move-in, move-out and visits — they protect both sides in a dispute.
- Photograph the space and the goods, not people or anything private beyond the storage area.
- Never edit or misrepresent evidence photos.
Keep it on Cache
- All coordination, payment and booking changes happen on the platform. Don't swap contact details to take a deal off-platform — message redaction exists for a reason.
- Off-platform arrangements lose Cache's contract, deposit and evidence protections, and can end your account.
